International Matters
With increasing internationalisation, foreign law and cross-border matters play a growing role in notarial practice. Whether real estate purchases by foreign nationals, international estate succession or cross-border corporate transactions – we have the experience to handle such cases competently.
European Regulations
Numerous EU regulations have fundamentally changed private international law in recent years. We advise you in particular on:
- European Succession Regulation (EU-ErbVO) – determination of the applicable law of succession, choice of law, European Certificate of Succession
- European Matrimonial Property Regulations – applicable matrimonial property regime for international marriages and registered partnerships
- Cross-border restructurings under the EU Mobility Directive
Apostilles and Legalisations
Notarial deeds intended for use abroad often require an apostille or legalisation. We assist you in preparing and obtaining the necessary certifications.
Notarisation in Multiple Languages
Dr. Ron Baer conducts notarisations in German, English and Dutch. For parties who do not have a sufficient command of German and for whom notarisation in their language is not possible, an interpreter will be engaged. This ensures that all parties fully understand the content of the notarial deed.
Do you have an international matter that requires notarial assistance? We are happy to advise you.
